One of the most effective resources in deterring or solving a crime is assistance from the community. Please contact us if you have ANY information on a crime that has been committed, is in commission, or is being planned. Your tip is completely anonymous when submitted via text message or website.

IF A MATTER REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ATTENTION
For matters requiring immediate response, please do not use our anonymous tip service or email, as your message may not be seen right away.

EMERGENCIES

  • 9-1-1 is NOT anonymous - caller ID and locaters are in use

Urgent but non-emergency situations

ANONYMOUS TIPS
There are 2 ways to submit an anonymous tip - via text message or via a website.

Text message from your mobile device
  1. Start a new text message to "CRIMES" (or 274637)
  2. Type the keyword HPDTIPS followed by a space and then your message.

  3. All subsequent messages can be sent without the keyword (HPDTIPS) prefix.

  4. Your message is encrypted and an alias is generated, masking your identity from the police.

  5. Although the HPD service is free, standard messaging rates/fees may apply. See your mobile plan for more details.
