The Holden Fire Department brush burning season is January 15 through May 1. Each time you burn, activate the permit by calling 1-855-937-0555 before 10:15am on the day of burning. Open burning starts at 10:00am and must be extinguished by 4:00pm. Firefighters conduct periodic checks during burning season. The Fire Chiefs reserve the right to deny open burning on any day due to weather/environmental conditions or reckless burning.
To obtain a burning permit follow the TWO steps below:
1. PAY YOUR PERMIT FEE: Before you apply for a burning permit you must first pay the permit fee with a credit card or checking account. You will need to include a valid email address, and agree to the Terms & Conditions of Open Burning. At the end of the online payment process you will be issued a 13-digit CONFIRMATION NUMBER that you will need apply for your burn permit.

2. APPLY FOR YOUR PERMIT: Make sure you have your payment confirmation # ready to enter. Your phone # will be used as a reference to your burn permit. Once you create an account in the system, you can use it every year to renew online (a new account is not required every season). YOU MUST ACTIVATE THE PERMIT EACH TIME YOU BURN BY CALLING 1-855-937-0555 BEFORE 10:15AM ON THE DAY YOU WANT TO BURN. Click HERE to apply for a burn permit.
