Trick or Treating Guidance Halloween 2020

The Board of Selectmen have set the suggested hours for trick or treating at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 31.

The Town of Holden reminds everyone that standard social distancing should be followed during trick or treating.  This means small groups should remain six feet from others, wear cloth face coverings, use hand sanitizer and/or wash hands before and after trick or treating, and if you are feeling any symptoms of COVID 19 or experiencing a fever, please stay home.

For residents, the Town of Holden suggests that if you do not want trick or treaters to approach your home, leave your porch lights off and/or post a sign that says “Please, no trick or treating.”

The Town of Holden also encourages residents to engage in “one-way trick or treating,” meaning that you leave candy in a bowl or spread on a table outside your door, and participate from behind a storm door or a window to wave at children in costume.

Halloween and trick or treating is not a town sponsored or town sanctioned event.  These instructions are guidelines that we ask residents to follow in order to promote a fun and safe holiday celebration for everyone.  Thank you for your cooperation and we wish you a safe and happy Halloween!
