DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
 

BOARD OF HEALTH All permits are available through the online permitting system at https://www.holdenma.gov/home/pages/online-permits.  

Inspections that are not affected by time restraints maybe postponed as determined by the Health Agent.  For questions or to schedule an inspection people may call (508)210-5542 or email healthagent@holdenma.gov

If anyone within the household or establishment exhibit any cold symptoms, including runny nose, cough, or fever, inspections will not be conducted. During inspections social distancing recommendations of six feet will be followed.

BUILDING PERMITS All permits for Building, Plumbing, Gas, Electrical and Sheet Metal can be applied and paid for online at https://www.holdenma.gov/home/pages/online-permits

If you are a contractor and do not have an established PIN number with the People GIS system one can be created by sending your name, phone number, e-mail, License, Liability Insurance made out to the Town of Holden, and Workers Compensation via fax to (508) 829-0252 or e-mail to dmonteiro@holdenma.gov and cperkins@holdenma.gov 

If you do not wish to use the online payment portal checks can be mailed to the attention of the Building Department Town Hall 1196 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520 or dropped off in the payment box outside the Starbard Building 1204 Main Street.

Applications for the Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Board and Conservation Commission can be obtained from the relevant Board or Commissions page on the Town of Holden website. All applications will be accepted through delivery of the USPS or UPS, though submission of applications is being discouraged until it is determined safe to open public buildings. 

TRASH AND RECYCLING – Trash and recycling will continue on the normal schedule.  If you have a problem with trash service please call (508)210-5540.  Blue overflow bags are available for purchase at Big Y, Jed’s Hardware, Walgreens, and Honey Farms.  Replacement lids are not available at this time.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Holden Police Department currently maintains a website which Holden residents can use to access the same forms that they could pick up at the Police Department.   This includes the following:  Accident Assistance Packets, Dog Registration Forms, Firearms Application Packet, Identity Theft Packet, Parking Ticket Appeal Form, Police Report Request Form, Sex Offender Info Request Form, and Traffic Enforcement Request Forms.

TOWN CLERK

To pay for vital records online for Birth, Marriage and Death, Burial Certificates:

Dog licenses can be mailed into the Town Clerk's Office with a check, rabies certificate and self addressed stamped envelope for processing. Notary and Commissioner to Qualify services have been temporarily suspended.
Call the Town Clerk at 508-210-5530 to file marriage intentions, drop off Town nomination papers or to drop/pick up State nomination/petition papers.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

All permit applications for the Department of Public Works may be accessed via the Town's online permitting system at https://www.holdenma.gov/home/pages/online-permits.  The DPW main phone number is 508-210-5550, and this number can be used to ask questions about the permit process, request services, and/or report any issues with the Town's infrastructure.  Please note that in person and/or non-essential services have been suspended.
