MINUTES

7:00pm                                                                        Holden Municipal Light Department

Present:  Chairman Paul Challenger, Dave White, Larry Galkowski, Margaret Watson, Erik Githmark, Darryll McCall, Gary Kaczmarek, OPM, Sue Lucia

Others Present:  From LPA: Bill Senecal

Not Present:   Jacquie Kelly, Chris Lucchesi, Bob McCarthy     

  1. OPM Report:  Gary Kaczmarek gave a construction update. The wooden guardrail is complete, the plantings are in, and the sod is 98% complete. The stonewall in front is going up. The punch list ongoing. Last week they did walk around with the mason to check on areas with mortar on the brick. They will be back during the 1st week of December. LPA is not happy with the way it looks. The electronics are going fine with the BMS system.

Paul Challenger asked about the lockers. Gary said he would email the numbers.

Gary said there is a concern with the stop sign at the soccer field just before taking a right to exit the site. A car hit a student on 10/24/16. People are not stopping at the stop sign. He suggested solar powered signage. The signs would sense the kids and cars then lights would flash. This is something the committee may want to consider.

Erik Githmark reported that they have received a lot of their teaching material and the teachers are beyond excited and very appreciative.

Budget summary Gary reported the building is 98% complete. The MSBA has stopped funding until the final audit. That will be 5-6 months after completion. The project is $8,000,000 under budget with a $1,000,000 owner contingency.

  1. Misc: There needs to be discussions with CTA to close out the job. Both sides need to sign off. There is a list of disputed items. Gary has worked with CTA, but the number is still too high. The committee also had a meeting with CTA. At some point, they will come up with a number.

Larry Galkowski motioned to approve the minutes from the October meeting as presented, Margaret Watson seconded and all were in favor of approving the minutes from the October meeting as presented.

Dave White motioned and Larry Galkowski seconded, with no other business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00.
