When does the pool open?
The pool opens weekends only, weather permitting, starting the first Saturday in June from noon to 4:45 pm. The pool opens for the season when school dismisses for the summer vacation. Once open for the season, pool hours are 1 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., weekdays when classes are in session; 11 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., weekends throughout the summer; and 11 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. daily, when there are no classes. You will need to show your recreation passes and proper identification EACH time you use the pool.

How can I get a brochure?
You can download the most current brochure from our website. Summer Brochures are distributed to the children who attend the following schools: Mayo, Davis Hill and Dawson. Other locations: Recreation Office, Gale Free Library and Town Manager's Office.
Where and when can a resident purchase a Recreation Pass?
Recreation Passes can be purchased on-line beginning Monday, March 2, and payment will be made with a credit card. You will need to come to the office with your printed receipt and proof of Holden residency to pick up your passes. If you prefer, you can purchase passes in the office (cash or check) Mon - Fri from 8:00am to 4:00pm, beginning March 2 ~ proof of Holden residency is required.
What is the cost for a resident season Pass?
Holden resident: $28.00/person; Holden family pass (4 or more people in the same immediate family ~ parents and children only, does not include grandparents, aunts, uncles, nannies ~ must be year round residents) $93.00; Senior (age 65 or older): $18.00. Children younger than 12 months do not need a pass, unless they participate in a class. Season pass holders will be required to show a valid picture ID with their season pass EACH time they visit the pools.
Can a Non-Resident visit the pool? A limited number of non-resident season passes (200) will go on sale beginning March 2. The cost is $156 per person. Non- resident passes must be purchased at the Holden Recreation office ~ cash or money order ONLY. Non-resident children under 12 months of age will need a pass. Season pass holders will be required to show a valid picture ID with their season pass EACH time they visit the pools. Non-residents can pay a daily rate of $10.00 per person to use the pool if they do not have passes.
Can our Babysitter / Nanny use one of our Family Adult Passes?
NO. Passes are non-transferable. Your babysitter / nanny will need a pass of their own (a Holden pass if they are a resident, a Non-Resident pass or a nanny pass) or they must pay the daily rate to go to the pool.
Can Non-Resident Family Members who spend time with you during the Summer be included on a Family Pass?
NO. They are not year round residents and they can not purchase resident passes. We encourage you to purchase non-resident passes for these guests while passes are still available. Without their own individual passes, your guests will need to pay the daily rate to use the pool ($10.00/per person).
Do I need a Recreation Pass to participate in a program?
Everyone who participates in a summer program is required to have a Recreation Pass. Passes need to be purchased BEFORE you can register for a program.
When can residents register for summer programs? Registration will begin Monday, March 30 at 9:00am. and is on-line only.
To register for programs you must have an account on our recreation website. If you do not have an account, click on the link for myrec.com and create one ~ all family members MUST be listed individually in order to sign up for any activities. If you're purchasing your passes on-line, please be sure to do so before trying to sign up for any activities. If you plan on purchasing your passes at the office, you will need to do so no later than Wednesday, March 25, so that we have enough time to record them by registration day.
When can Non-residents register for summer programs?
Registration will begin Tuesday, March 31 at 9:00am. and is on-line only.
To register for programs you must purchase recreation passes at the Recreation office and have an account on our recreation website. If you do not have an account, click on the link for myrec.com and create one ~ family members MUST be listed individually in order to sign up for any activities. You must set up this account no later than Wednesday, March 25, so that we have enough time to record them by registration day.
*Non-residents that choose to not purchase a season pass can register for any of the summer programs, but will pay double the cost of the program. You have to come to the Recreation office to register. If you decide to stay and swim after the class, you will have to pay the $10 daily pass rate.
When can I reserve the pool for a splash party?
Reservations can be made after the pool officially opens for the season. A Recreation Pass is required. Reservations are made at the pool office.
