Public Safety Day will be held at the Holden Public Safety Facility on Saturday, October 21 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The community is welcome and encouraged to attend this annual open house. There will be displays of all the Holden Fire Department fire apparatus and equipment, gear demonstrations, and other informative displays and activities. The Police Department will also have equipment and vehicles on display.
This event is free and open to the public. The Holden Public Safety Facility is located at 1370 Main Street.

Under Massachusetts Fire Code 527 CMR 1.00,, smoke detectors must be replaced once they reach 10 years from the manufacture date. The Holden Fire Department has found that many replacement combination smoke/carbon monoxide detectors purchased online do not conform to Massachusetts code requirements. All combination smoke/carbon monoxide detectors under the current code must have a voice feature to distinguish between alarms. Please contact the Fire Department at (508) 210-5650 if you have any questions regarding smoke and carbon monoxide detectors being sold by online retailers or refer to the Holden Fire Department Guidelines for Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Requirements
