Emergency Medical Services
The Holden Fire Department responds to requests for Emergency Medical Services with compassionate and professional care provided by our highly skilled EMTs and Paramedics. The department operates a fleet of four Type - I ambulances licensed by the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services at the Advanced Life Support (ALS) level. This includes two fully-staffed ambulances, a third ambulance primarily staffed by recall personnel, and a mechanical reserve. Clinical oversight and direction of the EMS division is provided by the Fire Chief and EMS Coordinator in conjunction with an Affiliate Hospital Medical Director from UMass Memorial Medical Center. The department is fortunate to boast some of the most up-to-date medical equipment available, as well as innovative and progressive clinical staff training provided through our High-Fidelity EMS Simulation Lab. Our commitment to clinical excellence is recognized by the American Heart Association, as continued recipients of the AHA: Mission Lifeline EMS award.
