MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS
October 28, 2019

STARBARD BUILDING   8:00 AM 

 
Members Present: Rosemary Scully and James Dillon
 
1. Acceptance of Minutes: approve the minutes of the September 16, 2019 meeting.
 
2.  FY 20:
Values were submitted and approved on September 18, 2019.
Values will be increasing approximately 6.4% from Fy19.
The Board is recommending a single tax rate for all classes of property.
The Classification Hearing is scheduled for November 4th at 6:40pm.. 
 Amy Handfield from Bureau of Accounts will meet with Rose and Lori Rose,
Town of Holden Accountant on October 31, 2019 at 10:00 to review RECAP      
 
3. Personnel:
Erica Crea, our Part time assessor clerk/data collector, began working outside on building permits this month.  Scott Bell continues to work on the cyclical inspections.
 
4. Budget: 
The budget process is starting for Fiscal Year 2021.  Rose will meet with the Town Manager in December to review.     
 
5. Exemptions:    
Amy has prepared and mailed out the Exemption Applications for recipients.   Applications are available on the town website and our office upon request.

6. Software Updates:
Munis 11.3 software was installed on Rose and Amy’s desktops to test.
 IT department has informed us this will “go live” on November 25th.
 
7. Trainings:
Rose attended What’s New in Municipal Law” on October 3rd.
Amy and Erica attended the MAAO Clerk’s meeting on October 2th.
Rose attended the Worcester County workshop on October 23rd.
Rose will attend the MAAO fall conference on October 30th.
 
 Meeting adjourned 8:20am.  Next meeting will be December 2nd at 9am.
