2. Take the State-required class (New Class A and C only (Class B is no longer being issued))

If you wish to file a new or renewal firearms license application for any class of Massachusetts permit, please access our Firearms Licensing information packet by clicking the button below. The packet contains:

Appointment scheduling

Every applicant for any class of license, whether new or renewal, must make an appointment to have their application reviewed by one of our licensing officials. Appointments are held at the Holden Public Safety Building.

State Required Safety Class
A Massachusetts Certified Firearms Safety Course or a Basic Hunter Education Course is required for all NEW Class A or C applicants (Class B is no longer being issued).

Holden PD is no longer offering classes. The list of links below has additional information and alternative course locations.
