MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS

December 9, 2019

 

9:00 AM    STARBARD BUILDING

 

Members Present: Rosemary Scully, James Dillon

 

1.  Acceptance of Minutes: approve the minutes of the October 28, 2019 meeting.

 

2. Fiscal Year 2020:

Classification Hearing was held on November 4, 2019, at 6:40pm in the Town Hall. The Board of Selectman voted to have a single tax rate for all classes of property.      The tax rate of $17.00 per thousand was approved by the Department of Revenue   November 6, 2018.                      

 

3. Miscellaneous:

Tax billing:  process started after December 2nd.  Mailing December 31, 2019.

Personal Exemptions received by November 15th are included on tax bills.

Light department liens: Rob and Amy worked to prepare for tax bills.

Motor Vehicle Excise: 6th commitment of 2019 mailed out December 17th.

 

4. Cyclical Inspections:

Scott is finishing up areas where postcards were sent for inspections.

He will resume cyclical inspections of residential properties in the spring.

 

5. Budget:

Town department budgets are being prepared for Fiscal Year 2021.  Rose is meeting with Peter, Steph and Lori on December 16th to review.
