BUILDING ROOF

We will be having some work done on the roof soon that hopefully will prevent any more leakage in the dining room over the winter. Gary Kaczmarek was up on the roof this week and discovered that the roof is in seriously bad shape – cracks – broken shingles, etc.  Once winter passes, we will be replacing the entire roof.

WATER BUILD UP

Louise has been in touch with the DPW several times about a water build up on the corner as you enter from Main Street – they have pumped it a few times – and Louise has been assured that they will find a way to rectify the situation in the spring.

OLD BUSINESS

Louise pointed out that the terms were expiring for four board members:  Richard Mansfield, Faye Ellis, Maureen Locke and Wayne Howard.

NEW BUSINESS

Sue welcomed Debbie Osipov from Oriol Health Care.  Debbie spoke about the newly established Oriol Foundation, a non-profit organization created by the Oriol family, as a way to give back to the community.  They would like to have a better relationship with the senior center by offering any sort of wellness program (physical, mental, financial).  They are also interested in starting a caregivers group and offering a health fair in the spring.  Sue expressed her appreciation to Debbie and the offer from the Oriols, and she said she believes this will be a nice partnership.  Debbie will meet with Louise and Clare to discuss ways in which they can work together.

Louise informed the board that she will be meeting with Jane Parenteau, the new light department manager, next week.

CITIZENS ADDRESS

             None.

ADJOURNMENT

It was unanimously voted to adjourn the meeting at 8:50 a.m.

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.
