NEW BOARD MEMBER
Louise is pleased to welcome Wayne Howard to the Board. He will fill Pastor Heslinga’s unexpired term. Wayne is a volunteer in the kitchen as well as a driver for Meals on Wheels, so he has the interesting perspective of what goes on in the Senior Center, as well as some of the issues facing those elders who are home bound.
FLU SHOT CLINIC
Our annual Flu Shot Clinic will be held on Friday, October 24 from 12:30-3:30. It is for Holden Elders and Holden Town Employees. As members of this Board, you are eligible to receive your flu shot through this clinic. Everyone, an elder or not, must present their insurance card. The clinic is offered through Worcester VNA.
PUBLIC POWER LUNCH
The public power lunch is being held later today. As we speak, we have pot roast cooking. We are planning to serve 130 Holden elders and 20 or so staff. We thank the Light Department for continuing to offer this very popular event.
MCOA CONFERENCE
This year’s MCOA Conference will be held Wednesday, October 8 – Friday, October 10 at Seacrest Resort and Conference Center in North Falmouth. Louise and Maureen will be attending all three days. While we are away, Naomi, Clare, Paula, Cindy, and perhaps one volunteer will hold down the fort.
