Call to order
Daniel Nason called to order the regular meeting of the Holden Department of Public Works Facility Committee (DPW FC) at 7:03 on August 28, 2017 at Holden Senior Center, 1130 Main Street, Holden, MA.

Review and approve meeting minutes
Mark Johnson made a motion to approve the minutes from August 14, 2017.
Jim Kempton seconded the motion. Vote approved by majority vote.
Introduce New Committee Members
Scott Sundin and Chris Luchesi were introduced. Dan Nason discussed dates and times for site walkthroughs at other DPW’s and town facilities. September 12, 2017 11:30am –Wayland, 1:30pm Chelmsford and 10:00am in Hopkington.
Updates
18 Industrial Property Operations/Maintenance
Gary Kaczmarek talked about getting quotes for the security detection system to include a motion detection/fire alarm system.
He discussed adding plywood to windows by DPW staff. The fire department would like to patrol the property. Leave the gate open.
Cost 600ft $5,280.
He is looking to reduce power consumption and is seeking options.
Site survey/Wetlands Delineation
Gary Kaczmarek gave an update and is still working on this.
Hazardous Building Materials Sampling
JP Parnas provided a summary of Weston and Sampson’s report. No PCB were found on the material tested. The final report is expected by next week.
Environmental Liability Insurance Purchase
John Woodsmall reported that the Environmental Liability Insurance policy was purchased for $3 Million dollars of coverage for a term of 4 years.
Weston & Sampson Design Contract
John Woodsmallis working on the contract with Town Counsel. Gary Kaczmarek is working on getting funding for demo.
Holden Days Wrap-Up
Jim Kempton Would like to see a DPW truck, good flow hats and a water table. Look into events at the high school to bring DPW trucks.
Strategize On Town Meeting Milestones
There was discussion about considering demo as a separate cost from the building. Was tabled for next meeting.

Next DPWFC meeting date is September 12, 2017.
Mark Johnson made a motion to adjourn. Jack Cross seconded the motion. Vote approved by majority vote. Meeting adjourned at 8:31 pm.
