Winter Shared Streets and Spaces Program

The Town has successfully been awarded funding from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) for the Winter Shared Street and Spaces program. This was a competitive application and the second time the Town has won. This project was awarded $106,000 to install new sidewalks, ADA ramps and crosswalks from the West Boylston Town line, to Arizona Ave, where there are existing sidewalks. This is the last section of Shrewsbury St that does not have sidewalk accessibility and will complete the pedestrian connectivity from the Town line to Main St.
Below is a locus map showing the locations and proposed activity. Construction is expected to begin this year and completed before winter.
