Jefferson Tank Altitude Vault Replacement

The altitude vault at the Jefferson Water Storage Tank is being replaced with a new vault and piping.  The water & sewer division takes samples in this vault multiple times per month and the existing setup is unsafe and failing.  The new vault will have a hatch with a “ships ladder” for access and will provide more room to move around in the vault.  The piping in the existing vault is severely corroded and the electronic parts of the altitude vault are failing. Below is a schematic of the new vault. This project was scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2020, but due to the impacts of COVID-19 on suppliers, it is now scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2020. Construction will be beginning the week of September 21, and is expected to be complete by the end of October, 2020.
