Director’s Report

Before/After School Programs – Davis Hill and Mayo are at maximum capacity with 52 children enrolled in both the Before and After School Programs.  Dawson has 52 in the afternoon and 51 in the morning.  We have wait listed children, all of which have more than 1 child needing care.

Adult Programs – This session of class registrations are as follows:  Barre Bell – 9; Belly Dancing – 8; Hatha Yoga – 18; Line Dancing – 12; Rope Burn, Strength and Core – 8; Yoga for Every “Body” – 9.   A new class is scheduled for March, Tai-Chi/Qi Gong, currently 2 are registered.

Children’s Classes – Babysitter’s Training – 18; Cake Decorating – 4 currently registered; both classes are scheduled during the week of February vacation.

Kids Yoga (10 – 15 years old) – 7 registered.  A new class scheduled for March Kids Yoga, Let’s Play

(5 – 9 years old) – currently 11 are registered.

Summer – Denise sent a memo to Town Manager Peter Lukes expressing the Recreation Committee’s view on the Selectmen’s proposal for the non-resident day passes.  It highlights the non- resident day pass usage on top revenue days and highest volume days.  Attendance of non-residents is a very low percentage of the pool population in both categories.

A draft of the 2018 Summer Brochure is included for your input.  Page 3 is missing as we are waiting for a decision about pool pass rates.

Summer classes and programs went “live” yesterday on our on-line registration site.  Next week phone calls will be made to last summer’s staff to see if any plan on returning, and press releases will be sent out advertising employment opportunities.

Passes go on sale Monday, April 2nd at 9:00 a.m., online and in the office.

Eagle Lake draw down to start in May.  The Eagle Lake Committee will be holding a kayak race in April.

Motion made by Erin Bradbury seconded by Lisa Post to adjourn at 7:54 p.m.

The next Recreation Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday March 13, 2018 @ 7:00 p.m. in the Recreation Office.
