Denise went over the numbers for the children’s classes:

The Youth Wrestling class will begin November 30, and we currently have 21 children registered. Denise added that this class will be held in the Davis Hill cafeteria, there will be a lot more room to accommodate the class. Denise is also planning a Babysitter’s Training class to be held during Christmas vacation, on Tuesday, December 29.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Denise went over the capital budget. Capital budget requests were recently submitted. My requests for fiscal year 2017 include landing impact material for all the town’s playgrounds which include Rice School, Dawson Rec. and the Light Dept., replacing the backstop at the Jefferson softball field and field maintenance for the Mountview fields for any damage that was caused by the new school construction. Lisa asked if we had to pay for the fields. Denise answered that new fields are budgeted in the construction of the school but the town is responsible for the upkeep.

Santa’s arrival to Town is Saturday, December 5. The Girl Scouts have put the goodie bags together. The popcorn and hot cocoa have been purchased. Santa, Girl Scouts, Light Department, Police and Fire have all been notified, and are all prepared to help welcome Santa. We plan to meet at the First Congregational Church at 3:00 p.m. Many department heads are meeting with the Winter Festival committee on Friday, November 20 to finalize plans and Denise plans to attend the meeting.

The Recreation Department extends our very warm wishes to you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:32 p.m.

The next Recreation Committee meeting will be held on January 12, 2016 @ 7:00 p.m.
