TOWN OF HOLDEN NOTICE OF BID

The Town of Holden will receive bids for the “REPLACEMENT OF GROVE CEMETERYGARAGE” project until Monday, November 16, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Bids shall be submitted in person or by mail, to the office of the Town Manager, 1204 Main Street, Holden, Massachusetts.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and to maintain the health and safety of Town employees and the public, the Town of Holden buildings are closed to the public. The following information is provided for participation in the virtual bid opening:

The plans and specifications for the bid may be obtained from the Town of Holden’s electronicbid system, found at https://www.holdenma.gov/bids. The plans and specifications are listed under“Replacement of Grove Cemetery Garage-DPW 20-6”. Register using the form found at the link for this project, as this will ensure you automatically receive any associated addendums. Once completed, you will then be able to view the Bid.

Bids submitted by mail or in person shall be submitted in sealed envelopes marked“REPLACEMENT OF GROVE CEMETERY GARAGE”. A certified check made payable to the Town of Holden, or a bid bond, for five (5) percent of the total bid price must be submitted as bid security.

Workers on this project must be paid the minimum prevailing wages set by the Massachusetts Department of Labor, which are included in the bid. A fifty-percent (50%) Payment Bond is also required upon entering a contract with the Town

The successful bidder shall be required to submit documentation that all employees to be employed in the work subject to this bid have successfully completed a course in construction safety and health approved by the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration that is at least 10 hours in duration. Any employee found on a worksite subject to this section without documentation of successful completion such a course shall be subject to immediate removal.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Grove Cemetery, 1320 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520 on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 10:00 AM.

The Town Manager reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities in the bidding procedures, or to accept the bid deemed in the best interest of the Town of Holden. The contract shall be awarded to the lowest priced, responsible bidder, as determined by the Town Manager.
