Industrial Drive Athletic Complex and Dawson Recreation Improvements

The Town of Holden is excited to announce that it has completed the conceptual designs for the construction of a new athletic facility on Industrial Drive, and the renovation of the Dawson Recreation Area on Salisbury Street. The “Industrial Drive Athletic Complex and the Dawson Recreation Improvements” project will include a new soccer field complex, synthetic baseball field, playground, trail paths, and outdoor workout stations. The goal of the project will provide the Town with expanded recreational capacity, promote outdoor activities, improve accessibility between adjacent recreational areas, and deliver flexible, multi-functional spaces for residents. A copy of the conceptual plan for the project is included below.

A Public Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. in the Senior Center, 1130 Main Street. The purpose of the meeting is to present the conceptual design for the projects, and to solicit comments and suggestions from the Public. This feedback will be evaluated and used to inform the next phase of the design process. Your participation in this process is quite welcomed.

A Special Town Meeting has been scheduled for October 17, at 7PM at the Wachusett Regional High School, 1401 Main Street. An article to approve the project’s borrowing via the Proposition 2 ½ debt exclusion process will be on the Special Town Meeting warrant. On Election Day, November 8, a question to approve the debt exclusion process will be placed on the ballot.
