REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
- The Town of Holden (the “Town”), through its Owner’s Project Manager, requests Proposals from qualified organizations, to provide material testing services for the construction of the new Public Works facility, 118 Industrial Drive, Holden, MA 01520.
- Proposals will be received via e-mail to the Town’s Project Manager, Gary Kaczmarek, at or before 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the following address: .The email Subject line should clearly bear the wording “PROPOSAL FOR MATERIAL TESTING SERVICES, NEW PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY.”
- Proposals will be reviewed for content by the Owner’s Project Manager. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals submitted if it is in the public interest to do so
- It is the intent of the Town to select a qualified firm from the Proposals received and to notify all proposers of their actions.
- Estimated value of this work is $30,000 and may be increased if circumstances require.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND SCHEDULE
The project is a +/-42,000 SF, 1 story building to be located at 118 Industrial Drive, Holden, MA.
The Town of Holden has engaged the architectural/engineering firm of Weston and Sampson, as the designer and contract administrator of the building project.
The General Contractor, M. O’Connor Construction, received a notice to proceed on November 2, 2020, and is required to attain substantial completion in early March, 2021.
Estimates of construction material quantities to be tested:
- Concrete – foundation footings, piers and walls: 1,100 CY; slab on grade: 1,050 CY; metal deck fill: 55 CY; concrete walkways, exterior pads, site structures: 250 CY
- Structural Steel frame – structure is a pre-engineered metal building; steel floor deck: 4,000 SF; steel roof decking: none
- Masonry – exterior and interior face brick and CMU; 12,000 SF.
- Bituminous paving: 24,000 SY
- TPO Roof system: none
