Chapter 5.2 Building Demolition Rules and Regulations

Rules and Regulations for the Preparation of Structures to be Razed
or Demolished
 
1.      Approval will be obtained from the Board of Health prior to razing or demolishing structures in the Town of Holden. This approval will be issued only after the structure has been certified as rodent free by a qualified pest control operator.
 
Note :  This approval will be indicated by the signature of an agent of the Board of Health on the building-demolition permit issued by the Building Inspector.
 
The purpose of the approval is to assure that the structure is free of rodents and nuisances prior to demolition.
 
2.      The owner will be responsible for engaging an exterminator, at the owner's expense, to rid the structure to be razed or demolished of rodents and/or nuisances, if such action is deemed necessary.
 
Note : -The agent will normally act on behalf of the Board of Health.
 
-The owner may appeal the agent's decision to the Board of Health.
 
-The owner will be notified of action required, within seven calendar days of an inspection by the agent of the Board of Health.
