HSA Plan Details
An HSA is a personal savings account that lets you put money away for healthcare costs while saving on taxes. HSAs are never taxed at a federal income tax level when used for qualified medical expenses. Contributions can come straight out of your pay-check and your HSA can grow tax-free!. Individuals will not lose unused funds in their HSA account, unused account balances will continue to roll over year after year! Employees must be enrolled in a High Deductible Health Insurance Plan (Select Saver or New England Saver) to enroll in an HSA account. Individuals cannot have both an HSA and Medical FSA account, participants can enroll in an HSA and Dependent Care FSA. For enrolled employees, the Town of Holden will make a contribution at the beginning of the fiscal year to your HSA account. For employees enrolling in an HSA account mid-plan year (new employees and qualifying life events), the employer contribution will be prorated on a quarterly basis.
